Le Million (Clair, 1931)

Le Million (Rene Clair, 1931)

Well, I don’t know what I was expecting, but I did not know this was a musical. Actually, it’s not really a full-blown musical, but there are enough scenes where characters break out in song and walk/march in beat to the music that I couldn’t help but be a little put off. The film is somewhat fun and whimsical, but it was not at all what I was in the mood to see. This is one of those movies where everything continually went wrong. Even when the characters got close to getting what they were after, it was very obvious it would be whisked away from them at the last moment. There were too many annoyances for me to like this.  5.5/10
